I was born into the latter days
Of the Electronic Invasion.
A part of the last generation
To learn how to (correctly) play outside.
We rode the crest of innovation
And were treated to the greatest marvels
Of human creation.
Some had been built up before our time.
Others still we witnessed rise.
Our young eyes saw
Pillars fall out of the sky.
We were treated to
Four wars passed off as one,
Three pontiffs,
Two apocalypses,
A crash
And the tube's burnout.
The hippies had weed and acid.
We had information
And we flew across the aether
To get our next hit:
The latest news.
The freshest entertainment.
We became:
Artists.
Athletes.
Academics.
Our achievements
Are scrawled upon
The stone walls
That lined the swift river.
They tell our story
Until they are washed away.
This too will tell our story.
Until it decays.

This is the first piece of
This is the first piece of yours that I have read. Sorry... so a big warm welcome from me. I like the "Style" that this is written in. A young style, "our young eyes saw the towers fall" says it all. Good stuff. Look forward to more...
