You Live Your Life In Reverse

You live your life in reverse
"And what's coming up next..."
It happens first
Is it a blessing or a curse?
(On the way out, on the way in)
You live your life in reverse
Heading towards way back when,
There was here and now was then
I don't know if I can/can't do it all again
This is getting a little too zen...
The final word you spoke was clear
ly the first thing you will ever hear
A child cast in the role of Lear
But in the limelight there's real tears
I don't want to talk about it
How you broke my heart
I don't want to think about it
How things fall apart, from the very start
You lived your life in reverse
Towards the cradle from the hearse
It'll get better after it gets worse
"Go to press!" cries Mr Randall Hurst
There's a sense of deja vu
You spin an old tale all anew
These memories things your moving through
Are things you pretend you never knew
But you will you did and you do...
You live your life in reverse
From a frail thing to a baby fit to burst
Stealing coins from mama's purse
You live your life in reverse

Interesting
"A little too zen."
I think that sums it up for me, although I like the reference to a child cast as Lear.
Is that a typo in the second line of the third verse? "ly the first thing you will ever hear."
