Not Quite Yet

Not here yet -
despite flash flood lit -
blackened sky's foreboding
threats; broken promises
and sweat. Tension's
skull-bright wakes up
more than rain.
Will river burst
and ocean drown us?
Bring us beer, we're thirsty,
calm us down
please... drawing closer
by the minute
Not here yet, but listen -
feel it distant... still
approaching fulmination
storming in
anticipation of a stark
solution to a problem
seemingly unsolvable.
