Chapter 28
Conquest of Chimera
Kian drew in a deep breath. He finally had the opportunity to address his ‘benefactors’ directly he wanted to make the most of it.
“Why am I here?”
“You are here to destroy us. If you don’t we will destroy Kia, Wayferra all its inhabitants.”
“What! Who are you crazy people?”
“You are alone. That is good. We can speak freely. We have been waiting for you to prove to us that you are ready to take the next step in your evolution, our evolution. You see, your evolution is our evolution, mankind’s evolution. Fortunately for us you cannot die. You left your body two days after you were born. You left your body again the moment you died. You left. You did not end. You did not cease to be. You accomplished the impossible and shattered our understanding of reality. We have been collecting your thoughts your life experiences ever since you were conceived but it was not until the night you died did we fully understand your true nature and value.”
“I gathered that already,” Kian yelled at the ceiling not even pretending to talk to Host anymore. Is that why you took me?”
“We did not take you Kian. We have been monitoring people like you for hundreds of years. Your kind has made it possible for us to not only look back in time but to experience Earth as it was long before we were even born. Your kind helped us realize time travel.
You are not unique in that respect. Many people project their thoughts never realizing what they are doing. You however are different, peerless and invaluable. You are undoubtedly the next rung in our evolutionary ladder. You; that is your consciousness is immortal.
The night you died our thought receivers reached back in time and somehow caught and trapped your mind. That should not have happened. It has not happened before or since; your consciousness has been in our possession for many centuries; a curiosity and so much more, our eternal future. During that time, the people of Earth turned our ancient home world Earth into a lifeless nuclear wasteland.
Our ancestors, the select few, the worthy ones migrated to the moon and waited for the Earth to cleanse itself. During that time, we learned how to bridge the gap between man and animal. The creatures now populating Earth are nothing more than experiments and, well whimsy. Once we learned how to manipulate human and animal genes, we, over time, became rather bored with dry practical application of our great knowledge and ability and began to indulge our taste for fantasy and myth. Now we have become quite bored with the peaceful albeit whimsical status quo. War is so much entertaining than peace, don’t you think?
We were for a time happy with the diversion the western warrior tribes provided, but they have learned to tolerate one another. We engineered them to fulfill the basic law of evolution –survival of the fittest, but they too have hammered out some sort of boring truce. Now thanks to you and your compassionate mate, they are about to grow wings and invade your beloved Wayferra. Driven by not only hatred, but blood lust they will tear your silly fantasy friends to shreds. It will make a good show, but there has to be more. The future belongs to you not us. You must learn to take it. We are so far away, you just have your wings, and they don’t work in space.
How ever will you fly to the moon kill us and save Chimera, project Kian, project. We have a brand body waiting for you. All you have to do is leave your old body and claim your new one.
Myra your first and those that follow her craves flesh and at this very moment is spreading mutagen you and your mate provided them all over the entire western wilds. They kill and they sow and from their bloody leftovers monsters grow.”
“You are the monsters!”
“No Kian we are Gods and it will take a God to stop us and take our place. Just be God, Kian, just be God.”
