Poor Old Charley

Charley Farley sat on the

khazi smoking on his pipe,

when all of a sudden out of

the blue; he had such a fright,

 

in the depths of night

a moth caught sight,

of Charlie Farley's

bathroom light,

 

in it flew and his

pipe hit the floor,

Charley headed for

the bathroom door,

 

with trousers round ankles;

scared he made such a din,

while oblivious to his fear

the moth flitted within.

This is a little bit of fun, Jennifer; it reads a bit like one of those old limericks. Wasn't Charley Farley one of Ronnie Corbett's comic characters? I think he was Charley Farley B.A. Were you recalling him to mind?

Hi there Hilary,

no I've never herard of Charley Farley in Ronnie Corbette's comic characters...I just wanted something that would fit in the poem as I was using to go with khazi. It was just a bit of fun, nothing heavy.

Just hope I've not offended anyone.

Bit of fun, Jenny. I liked the idea of the moth catching sight of the light, and carrying quietly on, oblivious to Charley Farley's noise and panic! Rhiannon

This  is lovely, Jenny, and something different from you.  I could just picture it.  Poor Charley Farley.  Actually I knew a Charley Farley once...many moons agosmiley  A fantastic start to my day, reading this.  Now on with the chores, with a smile on my face, thanks to you.

Hello Jean,

don't know where this one came from, it just entered my head and needed to come out.

I always try to keep the windows shut at night when the lights on, hate things flapping around my head, so I suppose I emphasize with Charlie in a way.
