Heaven’s Reward (Islamic State Comes To Heaven)
Introduction
Islamic State fighters find themselves in heaven (Jannah) after heavy street fighting. They have become martyrs to the cause of Jihad.
Chapter 1 : Heaven’s Reward : Virgins
God took the fighters into heaven on the face value of what they had said to the angels who met them, that they were pure of heart and mind and committed to him and to self sacrifice for good. There are 7 levels of heaven, the highest being the closest to God or perfection of spirit. They were admitted easily to the first level.
In the first level they found themselves they were in Eden, a beautiful paradise of gentle rivers, trees, bushes and shade under a warm sun, and their were many flowers of beauty and variety. Nature was at its most pleasant, plentiful fruits, which they found could sustain them easily. Eden was a welcome release from war. They believed they could have anything they wanted, their reward for the sacrifices they had all made for Allah in life. They only had to ask for it.
Ahmed said he wanted a woman to replace the wife he had left behind in life. She must be dark haired and beautiful, the kind of beauty he could not find in ‘real life’. And she must be a virgin as the scriptures had promised all martyrs. He asked it out loud. The others could hear, but was Allah listening, as they had been told? They all waited to see what would happen.
Swiftly a beautiful woman did appear, young and fresh in appearance, although she was not probably as young as many virgins of his imagination might have been. Because she was so beautiful, he could quite easily accept her without any disappointment about her age. His wife had been quite care worn in recent times, worried about the risks he took in honourable warfare against the infidels, and worried, perhaps, about the comforts she had left behind in her homeland in Europe. She had been dutiful, but perhaps a little sad, he reflected. It had not occurred to him much before, but now on seeing this beauty before him, he could see the difference.
Ahmed asked, “Are you a virgin?”
And she answered, “No, not in my previous life, but I am in this one!”
One or two of the others said, “This is not right. The scriptures tell us we should have true virgins in the afterlife.”
“I will take her anyway,” said Ahmed, eager not to lose the prize which stood before him. “Come lady, do you have a name?”
“My name is Mary,” she said.
Shocked, he responded, “That is an infidel Christian name. How are you here in heaven if you are of Christian background?”
“We are believers in the one God, just as you are! Do you not believe that your Issa, our Jesus, was a prophet, just as Moses, your Musa, was in your Quran also. You will find there are many Christians in heaven, and other religions. There are even people of little faith in life who have proved themselves worthy of entrance to heaven by their conduct in life.”
“Is that really so?”
“Yes,” said Mary.
Ahmed’s companions had overheard this and were not at all pleased. Their leaders in the struggle for Jihad never counted the infidels or the Shiites as brothers and sisters. It was unthinkable that such people should be able to reach heaven. Maybe as slaves and servants they were allowed to be here, as they had been in life. Perhaps it was acceptable that Mary should serve as a woman for Ahmed. Perhaps that was her place in heaven, to serve the martyrs and the deserving!
The fighters discussed what Mary had said amongst themselves and came to the conclusion that it was alright for women to be servants in heaven even if they had not followed the true faith in life. In heaven there would be no offspring to any relations, but perhaps the fighters should insist that any women should be converted.
Mary said, “No, that is not acceptable. This is my afterlife too. I should not need to be converted in my own afterlife!”
“You must convert!” said one fighter, threateningly.
“No,” said Ahmed, “I wish to have this woman. Therefore I shall deal with her. God has answered my request with her so he must intend me to have her!”
The other fighters spoke heatedly together for some minutes. Used to having clear orders from above most of the time they found there were some areas of practice where the rules were not completely clear. It was very unusual that they had to do much thinking about what the rules should be. Simple clarity was what they were used to. In the Caliphate on earth they would have been allowed to use such a woman as a servant, but not to marry. So if there were surprisingly such women here in heaven perhaps they could use them too as a reward.
Ahmed grabbed Mary’s arm and led her away into the trees and bushes, a long way from the others. Somehow distance did not matter in heaven, walking was easy, little effort or work was required. Mary seemed willing enough to go with him, which was not always the case in Life, where force often had to be used!
As soon as they walked away, the others began to make their requests for virgins, but the women who arrived rarely turned out to be pure virgins, nor were they all beautiful, but they were all women and they found they could request as many as they wanted. They felt like Princes and Sultans, because of the numbers they could recruit into their personal harems. Their morale was high and they all now seemed in agreement that they had found the real paradise. They might not get to achieve the seventh heaven and live in houses made of gold, but they had come this far , and it was what they deserved for the work they had done in building and restoring the caliphate.
