‘Can you take me away
from the bombs and mess?
And can you be trusted?
– unlikely, I guess.
‘How much must I pay you?
It’s all that I own.
Dare I pay in advance?
– guarantees unknown.
‘Is your route really safe,
destination sure,
with room for another,
a welcome secure?
‘And can I adjust to
a country afar?
a people, a culture
that’s not at war?

Much for the reader to think
Much for the reader to think about in this poem, Rhiannon...it is short, certainly not sweet, and the final stanza, far reaching.
An excellent take on the I.P.

So simply and plainly put,
So simply and plainly put, Rhiannon. Made me think what it's like to exchange one terror for another with only the chance of it working out for the best. Very real and thought provoking.

I so wish more people saw
I so wish more people saw things from the eyes of the immigrants, instead of the economists or politicians. Nothing short of desparation causes someone to feel they need to leave their home, and yet people find it so hard to have compassion for them. It breaks my heart.

Really good use of questions,
Really good use of questions, so much in the considering of the answers, something we must keep engaging with.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
So simple and yet so profound. To risk their lives and trust the rest of the world so completely, that is really quite an undertaking.
