All Hallows' Eve;
an oil lamp flickers on the sill
in the big house on the hill tonight.
A chandelier weeps tarnished,
crystal tears outshone by her incandescence,
as in she comes, a girl with cello.
Treads silent corridors, bereft of cadences,
arpeggios; smoothes back
her raven hair.
Logs lie sullen in the grate – cold and spent
to spring alive as down she sits; a skirt of Breton lace
in varied shades of ecstasy
falls in fluid folds...for it is here
her cello makes its home – across the strings
to coax her bow.
Candles on the shelf; bass, alto and soprano
meld in perfect harmony – a crescendo
reached, but tenderly; her thighs
a cradle for her muse.
Her reprise breathes, deep and low,
in voluptuous vibrato; the phantom she evokes
tonight, requited...
As in she came – the girl with cello.

Gothic and sexy poem. You
Gothic and sexy poem. You painted evey fold of fabric - I saw each movement and gradually became aware I heard the music in this - bow and vibrato. Lovely poem for Halloween.
