This is a demo of a song I wrote and sent to scratch for the York reading in February of 2013. I like it better the video I actually sent. Thought I was too nervous. The last bit of lyrics was a shout-out to the London reading at the Wheatsheaf.
I was feeling happy
thinking about your foggy shores
I was feeling sappy
head stuck in a soggy moor
I was feeling wistful
wishin’ I was there with you
I was feeling
river ouseic
fast and loosic
black swanic through and through
I was feeling mellow
thinking ‘bout you sitting round
I was feeling anxious
afraid that I was gonna drown
in a sea of my own words
but these will have to do
‘cause you see I’m
positively, absolutely,
unequivocally fond of you
I was feeling happy
thinking about your foggy shores
I was feeling sappy
head stuck in a soggy moor
I was feeling wistful
wishin’ I was at your door
I was feeling
big benbastic
river thamesic
wheatsheafic to the core
