Rudolph the red nose insane deer. The truth behind the myth.

It used to be that Cupid, was the lead on Santa's sleigh 
He was the fastest reindeer and could turn still night to day.
But then there was an accident, when Rudolph was behind
He tried to stop quite suddenly, but his brakes were badly timed.

Rudolph had been quite normal then, his nose a chestnut brown.
It didn't yet glow for all to see, when flying in the town
But Rudolph used to dream a lot, as if he were in bed
and Santa knew that Rudolph would cause trouble if he led.

But
One frosty Christmas Eve; when the reindeer were at speed.
All the veteran animals glided cross the silver moon with ease
But a jumbo jet came cruising and flew over sleigh to low
And it was, that Santa gave the order, for all ahead to Wow

All stopped at once except Rudolph, whose thoughts were in the cloud
It was too late by the time he heard, as his head was slightly bowed.
His nose disappeared into a void and made the others gulp
And Santa feared Rudolph’s head, would be flattened to a pulp. 

It took a while to pull him clear, but the worst was yet to come
Donner shook and shook with fear and fright, while Comet just sucked his thumb
Blixon giggled with nerves, Dasher wet himself and Vixon just stood and prayed
And the days were gone when Prancer pranced and Dancer would waltz away.

Santa grunted at thoughts of emotional scars, that All would surely suffer
But Cupid just smiled as Rudolph was freed, knowing he was the fortunate buffer.
He fluttered his eyes as he noted the size that Rudi's nose was showing
And it was the Red that turned his head, when the appendage started glowing.

And so as the Legend unfolds, I am sorry to burst your bubble
So true I can say, that Cupid is gay and Rudolph is still seeing Double.
