The monster in the dream

            “Stop” he shouted unable to move from the confinements of the chains that held him to his chair, as he pleaded over and over again that it was enough.

“Enough you say”

The monster stated while scoffing at the very thought of it,

“Ha”.

Then suddenly without a moments notice changing from his cynical looking smile to a cold disheartening look of pure and utter despair. Hazily the monster remarked a phrase to which the young man was all too familiar with,

“You did this, you did all of this, this-this is your doing”

“No I don’t understand, stop this, stop this right now!”

As the man pleaded while shedding tears of sorrow and pure anguish, he began to realize deep within his heart that the monster would not heath his plea. The monster looked at the man with only a cold stoic like stare that seemed as if he could see right through him, and without a moment longer the monster continued devouring the man’s flesh. Piece by piece, bone by bone, nail by nail nothing was to be left of the man, the level of savagery that the monster reveled in was scorched into the man’s mind, as no matter how hard he tried his eyes remained fixated on that scene. Ultimately realizing that no matter how hard or how loud he screamed, he wasn’t able to save his friend.

            The man startled suddenly wakes from his slumber, in the coldest sweat he’s ever experienced, falling to his knees breathing heavily gasping for what seemed like all the air in the world, all while screaming

“Ahhhh-why, why must this bullshit keep happening to me, why?”

He murmurs some more about these endless and demeaning cycles of nightmares that keep plaguing his consciousness, while uncontrollably sobbing for these nightmares within his mind to stop.
