CANDLES

how sad to be in darkness

and just sitting up on shelves

we'd like to be discovered

but we just can't help ourselves

one candle lights another

loses nothing in the act

provides the glow of warmth

and fills the needs that one had lacked

we should not stand alone

we need protection at our backs

unless there is a spark

we'll just remain a lump of wax

one candle lights another

intertwining flames are curled

if each of us contribute

we'll enlighten all the world
