Symbols and Substance

Hard heart,
soft heart,
hot heart (red-hot? – fickle
– ice cold – luke warm?)
warm heart,
even temper(ature),
cool head,
calm love,
kind hands –
gentle,
ready help, steady;
enduring affection:
fragile, sensitive,
delicate,
considerate?
thoughtless thorn pricks,
hate-arrow (not cupid’s):
hurt heart,
emotions crack,
love leaks,
life-blood weeps,
sadness seeps:
care to mend?
– don’t just send
a rose
(or roses):
protecting love
shows,
serves,
treasures,
lasts,
grows
through hardship’s blasts
through heartbreak’s woes.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I like this Valentine's day poem - with both sides of the situation being represented.

You are so right in this poem
You are so right in this poem Rhiannon, love is about the things we do rather than what we say. Through hardships love can go stronger.
I liked your poem.
Jenny.
