A boy tends plants under a foil sky
to the monotone of big-bulbed lamps
humming in electric unison.
White, silver, green
colour this pungent world -
but he can still dream in blue
sip water from a hose
move his mind
to cool remembered shades
of stone and cloud and opalescent beetles.

A drug synonymous with freedom can still cause the most terrible lack of it whether from industry or addiction. I love the inhibiting foil sky and the sips from the hose.

A parallel world is created.
A parallel world is created. Drug-induced memories on one plane, and euphoric scenes on the other plane. The opalescent beetles reminded me of the Beetles rock group and their yellow submarine! A well-constructed verse, Sir Phillip!
