Well. Of all the cheek! Just can’t believe
this is meant to be about, ‘Yours truly’...
he said,
reading my words out loud...digging
at his chest with his index finger, every time
he got to a ‘him’.
There’s not a shred of truth in it, though...
only demented, distorted fragments
in that warped mind of yours, so
he reckoned.
He’d never do anything like that.
Not with a slide-rule, and as for
the bit about the spider it was,
completely ass upward,
in his opinion.
You know all this is fit for, don’t you...
you and you’re half-baked poetry?
Fantastic little machines, these
shredders, don’t you think?
Not the heart to tell him it was really about
a multitude of ‘hims’...well, at least
seven or eight...
a composite picture, if you will,
and that, ‘Yours truly’ , doesn't have
a name.

Nice twist and all that back
Nice twist at the end, and all that back-finger stabbing - very amusing to watch in the minds eye - for me, not him, obviously, (any of hims). Ass upwards - I love that saying. My friend's Mum was fond of saying something was done 'arse backwards', which I adopted. A poem about opinions (not shared by a majority) about your poetry. Love it.

Trouble with these composite
Trouble with these composite pictures is that a bit seems to fit so many people, so when feeling uncomfortable with certain bits, let's focus on the bits that most certainly don't fit 'me'! Rhiannon
