Coastal Path (5) – Horses

Roaming pony bunch
along land’s edge –
tails swish, crisp crunch – the munch
of scrubby grass
they find between the gorse
on cliff path ledge:
no place for pampered horse
– these, sturdy, dour
with windswept manes unkempt
survive, foot-sure.
we’ve been offline for a week, partly exploring the Pembrokeshire costal path again, and that week’s IP [Horses] came to mind when a couple of times we came across such as these. They didn't seem to be totally wild ponies, but put there to make use of the grazing.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Lovely poem, and lovely picture of the horses. I'm glad you had a good week's holiday. It the photo was one you took, it looks as if you had good weather.

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
you've given the reader a very special insight into your holiday, which sounded like you really enjoyed yourselves being so close to nature.
A very special poem that matched the beautiful photo above.
Jenny.
