Down amongst the chaos

immune to the sound of sirens

they glide like fish in a hidden sea

lost to sighs and conversations

 

Out of sight and mind

 

Silent shoals criss-crossing

always moving

cruising unknown depths

but never losing themselves

 

Emerging into the light of a thought

drawn to a face

a remembered place

or feeling

 

Leaping into consciousness

 

… thinking on

will my final ending

be soothed by a song?

 

If so

which one?
