Accoutrements

Mercury arose with its wings cut off

   And no genitalia to allow for

      Proper assertion of its sex.

A forlorn creature whose interactions

   Seemed only to arouse contempt;

It resigned itself to a seat behind the bin

   And wondered if the pool soaking into its leg

      Expected any better...
