ONE - ARMED COMBAT
by Julia (Overthetop1)
I heard the sound of one hand clapping
The other arm shot in some war
I saw the eyes of reason snapping
Age-old question - what is this for?
I tripped over begging bowls in a line
Deliberated over a placard -
Carefully avoided residue slime
We can never look too hard
Our grandfathers thought dirt would disperse
Through technology's advance
But desperate greedy need can't be wrong
When we have trains right through to France
If you need a slave, they are there for the plucking
Look for a skull with no eyes
I think I hear a booted leg kicking
Perhaps anger's alive in those cries
