Late Blackberrying
By Rhiannonw

Late for blackberries,
missed it this year -
let’s go up Wort Hill
– ‘look-out point’
over Shropshire dips and ups,
and on to Edgton –
enjoy the air:
blackberries dying,
small black juicy scattering
– stretch to pick
among the prickles
(gorse and brambles!).
Stew, freeze:
good winter puds.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Lucky we had such a mild autumn as I am sure there are lots of treats out there for the picking. I'm always amazed to see crab apples rotting on the trees, as they work so well in various forms.

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
what a beautiful scene you've painted with words in this poem.
Really enjoyed reading.
Jenny.

This is so evocative -
This is so evocative - blackberries are metaphoric of such dark and depth, richness, somehow. I really liked the nostalgic tones of this.
