When Jim Hacker
heard ‘Yes, Minister’,
had he understood, or not
Sir Humphrey Appleby’s political plot?
Sir Humphrey Appleby
subtly and capably
modified principle
to what he thought practical.
Bernard Woolley
had a difficult job, surely –
helping Hacker get the better
of Bernard’s Civil Service Master.
Humphrey and Jim,
mixed metaphors at whim,
and Bernard would pedantically
explain their impossibility!

HI Rhiannon
HI Rhiannon
I enjoyed reading these, and remembering the programmes. They were among my husband's favourites.
