Peaceful Explosions
By Rhiannonw

Sparkles in the sky,
rushing sounds to shock and shake,
when black the sky on frosty night
displays that thrill, excite, they make
in colours flashing bright,
and bonfire warming rosy cheeks
– kiddies cling amidst the shrieks,
but do not fear and quake,
as others do in far-off lands
where traitors strut with vile commands
and plot the people to oppress
in savage murder and distress,
and some attempt to stop their lust
with dangerous explosions thrust;
oh, may those tanks and swords be turned
into new ploughs, gunpowder burned
only in safe displays like these,
the darkness decorate just to please.

Good one Rhiannon. Shows what is happening today in the Uk and elsewhere. It also reminded me of the history of Guy Fawkes night.

Good thought and desires, perhaps not ploughs though
better wind turbines for power and water.
Ironic though the aim of those naughty Catholics back in 1605 was not disimilar to those of IS now. Lets hope their dirty deeds lead to fun for kids in the future.
