Summer darkness
lives beneath the canopies and the trees
Mixed with splash of sodium and sound
Excited swifts
fill the city streets with their calls
Snatching at the evening’s bonanza
I blow kisses
to each terraced avenue, as we pass
Pavements lit with sodium and sound
Attentive waiters
fill the boulevards with their shouts
Servicing the evening fiesta

I'm glad Ed said Spanish, because I was thinking, that doesn't sound like Bristol. It has all the magic of night time and even in the liveliness a sort of stillness.

Lively, little piece.
Lively, little piece.
You created a feeling of excitement and hopeful expectations to my mind.
Much enjoyed - thank you.
