A Child Named Chamomile Tea
Sayleece landed her golden saucer upon the small islet in the lagoon, gently settling it amongst the grass and wild flowers.
"Are we there yet?" Asked Chamomile Tea the young girl with yellow hair and the vertical slit pupils of a feline, trying to get a peek at the view. "Is this Earth? Is this the planet you told me of? The Gia planet?"
"Yes we are here now!" Said Sayleece in her usual sweet slender voice, as she opened the side door of her disc shaped craft.
Chamomile Tea took a sharp intake of breath at the sight. Nothing had prepared her for such beauty. They were in a secluded lagoon. Water surrounded them on all sides except for the narrow isthmus that attached the islet to the shore. Rolling green forests of evergreen old growth covered the sharp hills. Mist hung in the deep blue sky like magic and further off up in the cove a clear stream of fresh water tumbled like music from the distant mountain. The beauty of it all overwhelmed her heart with feeling and she was left speechless. "Oh my," she whispered. "It is even better then I imagined."
"Come let us set foot upon the soil of this new land," said Sayleece. They both stepped down and behind them the two large sentient felines woke from their cushions.
Little yellow dandelions bloomed in their footprints as they stepped into the gently swaying grass. Everything was so vibrant, and the landscape so expansive. "Mother! The ocean! The sky! This sanctuary is so huge!" To Chamomile Tea, this was certainly much different then the cold stark outpost in the sirain stars that Sayleece had her indoor botanical domes and where she ran her scientific experiments. Not even her murky infant memories of the Lizard Man's gardens upon the starship had prepared her for this. "Can we live here? Oh I think I want to live here! Can we? Please!!!
Sayleece laughed. "We will have to see. It depends on when your orphan brother decides to wake up on grandfather lizards starship. We will camp here now and prepare, but soon we must return to gather my scientific supplies from Sirius."
"Where are all the humans?" Asked Chamomile Tea curiously. "How far are we from where the nearest humans live?"
"Earth is a very large place... There are a few coastal villages nearby as the saucer flies," explained Sayleece, pointing way beyond the farthest hills with her slender hand, "but all the big cities are far far away from here."
"Are the humans friendly?" Asked Chamomile Tea.
"Well..." Said Sayleece thoughtfully running her slender finger through her close cropped silvery curls which looked somewhat likes flocculent sheep's hair. "... I suppose they are like any space beings. Some are friendly and some are not so much."
"Will we get to meet a human?" Asked Chamomile Tea.
"It is not likely. I chose this location very carefully for its remote and pristine nature. The energy of that mountain makes these collection of coves an energetic sanctuary. There is a sort of natural spell here that makes us hidden from unwanted eyes. But we should still be careful and not draw too much attentions to ourselves."
"Oh," said Chamomile Tea. "I see."
"Most humans are not quite ready to meet us space beings yet... Some don't even believe we exist. Other life in space is a thought that many humans find very uncomfortable."
Chamomile Tea laughed. "That is very funny... Humans must be very silly then."
The two large telepathic felines stepped down from the saucer and joined them nuzzling at Chamomile Tea's shoulder.
"I would like to meet a human someday... Even if they are silly,"
"Perhaps someday we will," replied Sayleece, with a smile. "In the meantime we can set up camp and and prepare for Katulu's awakening."

'frocculant' a spelling
'frocculant' a spelling error, perhaps? yeh, I guess some humans are friendly and some less so. I don't tihnk you can use the term 'as the bird flies' because aliens wouldn't know what a bird is?
