Waiting for God

Old people all around me as
I sit in my chair reading.
A log fire burns in the hearth
Looking after so many;
Degeneration "tangles"
Killing their brain
Gazing dim eyed they're
Lost in their past.
Remembering their childhood
Forgetting last week;
It's impossible to reach them
They're locked
In a world of their own
Far, far away their mind now
Un-crowded
Uncluttered
They're
Waiting for God
This
Is their prize

You perceptively and
You perceptively and helpfully show some of what is happening – 'degeneration tangles killing their brain' and 'Uncrowded, Uncluttered', and the fact that that can bring a peace, and hopefully for some/many a peaceful waiting on and for God and his prize.
Understanding some of these things can help those looking on, and to try to direct positively and cheerfully the bit of thought that is there. Rhiannon

Thanks Edward. There is a second part "What Situation?" but of course it is very light-hearted and not at all an attempt at profound theology.
But yes I have to say I disagree, it would be great fun to attend your own funeral. Like Tom Sawyer and that. A spook. Or like Churchill? The same happened to Mark Twain himself- well almost.
