False Announcements!

They asked him when he’d come again;
he said you cannot know just when –
only the Father knows the day.
So don’t be duped when people say
their own ideas, scripture twisting,
some special knowledge new insisting,
to give a date, absurd invention,
bizarre, unfounded speculation –
which just makes others sceptical,
that such an awesome spectacle
we’ll see one day – the King descending,
not as a Babe, but praise resounding.
So wait in expectation, ready,
with fixed anticipation steady,
and not (because of wrong predictions),
neglecting proper preparations.
“No-one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. … So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Matthew 24:36, 44

I really liked the structure
I really liked the structure and flow of this, Rhiannon. It reads very well. There are some bizarre interpretations of all sorts of things out there. Whatever one's own particular religious views, some of the conspiracy and end-of-world theories are just plain bonkers.

I'm not the best
I'm not the best at interpreting poems Rhiannon, but, this is so well written. I think a lot of thought went into your interpretation of "The Son of Man" returning to earth despite some bizarre theories by others.

Not seen with the eyes- not
Not seen with the eyes- not heard with your ears- but known in your soul. The twisted road of life is different for each us...but in the end... the way to GOD is open to everyone.
Your poem flows so beautifully Rhiannon and your faith is always shinning through.
