Martian Poetry

We are all visitors,
in others' written countries.
There is comfort in confusion,
in unconnected connections crossing
breaks as if the Circle Line described
a triskaidecagon just for luck
and out of serendipity.
Double-triple-layered meta-fives
offer the reader simile experiences
to the writers' addled dreams
of achieving immorality.
Leave the map of sense
and logic in the glove box
with your magic hat
and coat of many collars.
Jump two-footed into the mystic,
out of the blue.
Look, down the yellow brick
rode a horseman
saddled with grief
and a bridled husband.
This is how we do it.
All poetry is Martian
along the page
to glory.

This is very good Ewan. And I
This is very good Ewan. And I agree that when we read a poem we venture into the poets territory. But I'm not sure that I find comfort in unconnected connections crossing breaks. Though I agree that serendipity may lie there.I'm not hot on cryptic puzzles, so I need my similes to be of the simple kind.

Aah, point taken Ewan. My problem is that you know about these things and I don't. So excuse my ignorance. Your point is very good and totally valid. It all makes sense to me now. Thanks.
