i'm standing on the corner
with my mommy close at hand
i can barely walk
although she thinks my strut is grand
.
my knees are rather shaky
but improvement i foresee
i'll be standing on the corner
by myself and fancy free
.
i'm standing on the corner
waiting for the bus to school
i'm just another fishy
that is splashing in their pool
.
i start off where it's shallow
but i'll soon be off to sea
i'll be standing on the corner
of a university
.
i'm standing on the corner
of obscurity and fame
soon will be a day
when everyone will know my name
.
i'm waiting for a break right now
but one day you will see
i'll be standing on a corner
of a street named after me
