The Hearts Of Politicians

The hearts of politicians must be wierd
to care for some injustices, not others
and always those where there is money near.
Are they the hearts they use to love their mothers?
 
Is it the heart that smiles at fields of flowers
that also feels fracking would help a lot;
the heart that sees the deaths at Grenfell Tower
that loves this selfish system that we've got.
 
But Jeremy, I thought, his heart seemed different;
not like a politicians heart, I'm sure
thats why, my heart, for now is sticking with him;
for now, at least, I'm Labour to the core.

Very true. I agree with the sentiments in a lot of this.

I think that what motivates alot of people to enter politics is the desire to see that nothing changes. Perhaps people like Boris become politicians because they're afraid that people like Corbyn will  destroy the cushy life of wealth and priviledge that they and their clique enjoy but that, to me, is like becoming a doctor so you can ensure everyone stays sick.
