Goin' Fishin'

is just an excuse

to do some hiking

beside a gravel road

an earthy trail much softer

on the feet – timothy

seed brushing your  leg

the sound of cicadas

buzzing in your ear

pair of sneakers

on the muddy path

the thought of you

and your sweet face

sittingon the porch

thinking of you

thinking of me.

Funnily enough my partner's going night fishing with his son this weekend, so I expect he will be sitting thinking of me and I of him. Nice thoughtful poem.

Thank you Jenny. Nice comment.  Re your partner and son -- thinkin' of you / thinkin' of me, eh? As you can see, I am experimenting a little. I have written over a thousand poems and the muse keeps going; never intented to ever write this many -- the joy still flitting here there and everywhere, Just got great news after being tested thoroughly yesterday, I did not have a heart attack. Praise the Lord. Make each, moment of each day be meaningful. Let forgiveness be your mantra today.
