The meeting

How did we look?

Were we handsome?

Was there magnetism?

Electricity?

Did our eyes burn?

Did something natural occur?

Call it energy, or life.

An urgency of details
that I struggle to recall.

The hounds were kept in check.

There was never any danger.

Our farewell was exceptional.

Beautifully crafted.

¿Cómo hemos aparecido?

¿Éramos guapos?

¿Hubo magnetismo?

¿Electricidad?

¿Se quemamos los ojos?

¿Ocurrió algo natural?

Llámalo energía, o vida.

Una urgencia de los detalles
que me esfuerce a recordar.

Los sabuesos fueron 
mantenidos bajo control.

Nunca hubo ningún peligro.

Nuestra despedida fue excepcional.

Sorry! Maybe I’ll do a post in Irish and no bugger will be able to translate it! Did you see that some poor English blokes were duped into thinking ‘Tiocfiadh ar la’ means ‘It’s coming home’? It’s an old Irish rebel saying meaning ‘Our day will come’!

I think you should. More power to that pen. I'd apply for citizenship, but my ancestors jumped the gun. It has to be a grandparent. I used to know a lot of old songs, if that helps. ;)

A mate once told me that it's pretentious to include foreign words in your work. I'd say we're following an illustrious tradition. Even Ryan Bingham is partial to crooning a bit of Spanish.
