WE WALK IN SHADOWS

with sunset passing
as seasons stack
one above another--
celestial images
scudding by
passing summers
and always
cars whistling along
at 80 kms
past villages that
linger in time
highways stretching
north to south
even edge-wise
like a sequence
of events
rallying
in military order.

I know exactly what your saying, especially in that last line. As I get older it becomes obvious that life is repeated over and over by generations of people coming up behind me, walking in my shadow.
At least that's how I read it. A thought provoking poem Richard and many congratulations on the cherries.
