[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
The pattern of doctrine revealed in God’s Word
is treasure essential to life in this world
– a gospel to guard, with compassion proclaim:
his Spirit gives courage, his love will inflame.
Though the going be tough and our weaknesses grieve,
through sneers, and ridicule, by faith we perceive
his Spirt keeps cowardice at bay, we can serve,
our God will ensure from his Word we don’t swerve.
Tune: 10 10 11 11 eg tunes of 'O Worship the KIng all glorious above'

These hymns remind
These hymns remind one of the early Wesley hymns in the Methodist Church. In this one is in the first letter of John "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear".
In this one the two final lines are especially beautiful.
Your efforts are very ambitious but they should be! Tom Brown
