Attention!

New arrivals

coming to earth

every second

of each day,

 

having no knowledge

of our language

or customs,

oblivious to

why they're here,

 

nonetheless

they're always expected

significant to

our ever

changing world,

 

remarkable is their journey,

enduring many

dangerous obstacles

that challenge them

along the way,

 

We'll welcome them

with open arms,

encourage communication

because this is

what we do.

 

As love enfolds,

our wisdom

will awaken knowledge

creating and

enhancing inquisitive growing minds.

Hi Hilary,

when I read this poem to my partner, he too thought I was talking about aliens. I suppose it can read in whatever context the reader wants too imagine. I was writing about the incredible journey a human takes to come into this world and how on the journey they have no idea why they're coming and what a difference they'll make to this world once here.

Living in that warmth of the womb for nine months, to me is like the space ship, but when the baby arrives then they have landed.

Everyone needs babies in their lives... the world is a wonderful place when there's a baby on the scene. Your poetry is fairly good too.

really enjoyed this! That the womb is a spaceship is great, and also to be reminded that though a birth in your own family is life changing and gigantic news, it is also to thousands of other people"every second of each day" and for  other creatures than us too. Life is a miracle and your poem reminds of that
