So elegant,
long-legged,
feathered brightest white,
wings black trimmed,
matching skull-cap,
nape and
slender up-curved beak –
waved in the water
as it wades
along the estuary’s muddy fringes
searching out sustenance.

you show how to write making a pure image, no unecessary stuff cluttering communication, just a feeling of peace and clarity, as though watching the bird with you as it walks along the shore
