Bog Brilliance

Dark and dank and waterlogged –
soggy bog-land –
secluded haunt of otter shy,
sheltered from intrusions idle
– sunshine flag gives indication,
– signal bright: no invitation
to wander pleasantly up yonder,
no ease of rambling way,
on borders’ solid pathway stay,
lamp of warning
marsh edge adorning:
enjoy my lemon brilliance,
my beauty as a sentinel intense.

Beautiful poem about one of my favourite flowers. I just love the leisurely pace of meanderings in this piece.

I love this! You are
I love this! You are brilliant.
The ogg sounds are like water filled footprints, sucking at the rhythm
Then "idle" mixed with the "S" of secluded makes me think of intruders sliding off, like in fairy tales, the place magically invisible to them.
"Sunshine flag" is perfect, using their name and also how they look, I LOVE the idea of a flag being made out of sunshine :0)
All of it. "My beauty as a sentinel intense" as PS says, makes me think of the yellow shining out over distances.
It is GORGEOUS, a brilliant choice for pod, a wonderful read, thankyou

Lovely piece Rhiannon. I
Lovely piece Rhiannon. I enjoyed the way you describe their beauty in yellow shades and also how you point out that they serve as a warning to the water's edge often hidden, I'd never thought of them like that. They are a very classy plant.
