The Devil's Violinist

Of classical music
I am impassioned.
Not for me rap or pop:
I am old-fashioned,
I like Bach and Vivaldi,
Beethoven, Mozart,
and I am very fond
of Paganini's art.
It is said that he made
a pact with the devil
so that with his violin
he'd play at high level.
Of one of his works,
Caprice 24,
composers produced
variations galore.
A superb one by Brahms
and one by Rachmaninoff
and the version by Liszt
is not far off.
It is played on the violin
and the violoncello.
On the latter the sound
is rich and mellow.
On other instruments
on which it's performed
the piece's melody
is greatly transformed.
Among those who played it
an instrumentalist,
Julian Lloyd Webber,
is a world-class soloist.

Did you read
Did you read that he had extra long fingers, which helped him play very fast?
I love Vivaldi too :0) I wish more was known about him. Julian Lloyd Webber is brilliant, isn't he? When he duets with his wife it is so intimate it feels rude to listen. What an informative poem this is!

albert einstein
I wonder what an electric violin sounds like Einstein played it in some orchestra those days. What Bob Dylan sings in desolation row is true. There's even a chess opening named for him he played an excellent game. He enjoyed cowboy movies too with his students.
Personally I know hardly anything of classical music.
Keep well & Nolan

Whilst having an MRI scan I
Whilst having an MRI scan I was asked what music I'd like on the headphones. Without hesitation I replied 'Vivaldi' a genius. Great piece Luigi
