Harvest!

Apples galore,
trees shaken to pour
fall flood for the store
– chopped by the score –
juice lake:
bottle and pack:
more and more for
shops to purchase
and stack,
winter whittling the stock
– autumn’s taste
not gone to waste!

What an amazing sight to see
What an amazing sight to see all those apples piled high and getting used. I like how you descibe what you are seeing, in this poem.
We have crows and magpies that simply love to sit in the neighbour's apple tree and peck away at the fruit.
I enjoyed your poem Rhiannon.
Jenny.

I've never seen so many
I've never seen so many apples at once! How lovely it must be where you live, full of orchards! You must be able to smell Autumn? Do you get to drink the fresh juice? My Dad used to put our windfalls in a plastic dustbin (specially bought!) and made a basher out of a broom handle with a log on the end, which he had stripped of bark and smoothed down till all clean and neat. Then we had to stand on a chair and take turns bashing the fruit to a pulp :0) The juice tasted REALLY good. Thankyou for reminding me, and for your great ryhmes, the first three lines give such a strong impression of bounty
