Out of a lump of clay

I have been telling babies their manuscripts
will often be turned down without the first line being read
and it’s hard, watching the babies comprehend this,
but it will do them good in the long term.
I’ve not mentioned the concept of love
to any of these babies yet, but I will. I’ll say
it’s like when an actor chooses to use their character’s accent
even when they’re not on set. You know it’s them, deep down,
but at the same time they’re not really in the room with you.
I’ve already explained to the babies
that their favourite TV characters don’t care about them.
They’re already thinking about their next project.

They've got to find out some
They've got to find out some time. At least now the rejections come via email, so you don't have to waste time opening an envelope to find out the bastards have failed to recognise your genius yet again.
Still. Ever onwards.
(You may get notification of this comment twice. The sodding cat just jumped on my keyboard and deleted it the first time I put it on. It is a measure of my arrogance that I thought it was worth putting on again. It's going to be one of those days.)
