I’m drawn to William Wantling’s “Poetry”
when I think how bad things are

No one wants to scan through verse
or choke on preachy homilies,
save for those who’ve surrendered truth
and turn to ritual for comfort

It’s pretty simple anyway

Don’t lie to yourself

Hangs together beautifully until the last little bit, where the rythem seems to be lost... perhaps on purpose... ?

Thank you for your lovely comment. I'm surprised it hangs together at all. :)

I suppose I was aiming for some musicality but didn't want the pursuit of that to obscure the point. Can't beat a bit of disruption.
