An Obliging Treecreeper

What’s that skittering up the tree?
– brown as the bark, so hard to see.
As the trunk we scanned and searched,
it stopped awhile quite still, clung, perched
in such a way we could clearly view
bark-brown back and its white tummy too;
and there it paused and posed
while we fumbled with camera and zoom,
searching with the viewfinder,
picture shook –
steadied arm to focus,
caught and took
the proffered profile
– it seemed
to patiently wait
until we were suited and done –
then off it flitted, onward,
gone!

Well done capturing such a tiny elusive creature :0) I liked your contrast of the carefree bird and all the effort and stress of taking its photo, but you did it! And now the reader gets a wonderful snapshot of photographer/poet and treecreeper :0)
