Wolf moon

Made of hornbeam,
I had its ironwood in my veins;
I walked bent under the weight of it
by the time I saw that wolf moon.
She had risen low and fat
upon the horizon
when she blushed me a frosted glance.
But if you howl at her, she howls back,
and there is no prowl beneath the watch
of her grey eye, she lets the night whisper
its keen science and history of everything,
you cannot hide behind her penumbral mists -
she will show you
that you are no hunter at all -
you are the little lamb that knows
the cold sharp of terror, that knows you have,
unnoticed,
drifted from your flock.

I looked out for the eclipse
I looked out for the eclipse of the moon last night, but it didn't show much of an eclipse at all.
The moon was wonderfully spectacular to look at though, and shone very brightly with a beautiful aura.
I loved your poem describing a Wolf moon in all its glory. Wish I could have seen her blushing a frosted glance, as in your poem. There's a spiritualness about your poem that leaves the reader feeling thoughtful.

Obscured by clouds. Story of
Obscured by clouds. Story of my life. Good memories of sitting with fellow adolescents around a record player, though.
Mmmmm. I like that last line. Insecurities a-go-go. We poor humans.

You evoke a very strong
You evoke a very strong feeling of uneasiness:
she will show you
that you are no hunter at all -
you are the little lamb that knows
the cold sharp of terror, that knows you have,
unnoticed,
drifted from your flock.
it chimes with how I was feeling from having read that Extinction Rebellion has been (though now retracted) classed as a terrorist organisation by police, and children should be reported if they speak emotionally about climate change. However despite the frightening feeling, your writing is, again, so beautiful!
