Ohio,
when you let your eyes defocus,
could be described as an amalgamation of grays, greens,
and cool browns.
A common sense of damp leaves, ticks,
and venison.
Away,
on the stretch of road between-
Alberqurque and El Paso, let your eyes relax once more,
to find a new palate,
of warm browns and pink earth.
Towered by the blue of a sky
that holds sunlight. Only then,
does one gets a small taste
of the new world
they are bordering on.

I think this is brilliant.
I think this is brilliant. Love the palates of colours seen out of focus and the common sense of things. Also the tower of sky that holds the sun. Great. Wasn't sure how the title connected to it, but that could just be me! :)

Pick of the Day!
It's always nice to welcome back old friends, and this is a cracker of a poem to return with - it's our Facebook and Twitter Pick of the Day! Please do share/retweet if you enjoy it too.
Note to author - I've found several similar images in the public domain, so I'm assuming this is one of those, or your own image? If you could just confirm, or pop on an attribution if not. Many thanks!
