Culture shock, the norms swept away,
no planning long-term, need to plan out each day.
Adjustments take time, routines have been lost,
some lonely, some find the confinement brings cost
when close to those bored, and frustration can spill –
need grace to forgive, and suggest how to fill …

ideas have fizzled, in vain look for ways
to help those you live with find fun in their days –
confined, missing friends, and activities loved …
some may even try asking guidance from God.

Perhaps we all need guidance from God in the face of this evil. As you say everything has changed in such a short space of time,

Thanks, I'm sure we do, Hilary, and he wants us to ask for his help too, and acknowledge our need for it. Thought of such has been discarded so much in our day, to the detriment and loss for all. Nice to hear from you. Rhiannon

Thank you, Linda. Yes, I've felt helped by others talking of the problems and adjustments, - especially someone who'd recently experienced the culture shock of returning to this country to live after many years in another, and she realised what most are struggling with now is so similar. And it's good to empathise with families, and teenagers …

and as I said to HIlary, our society has so often scorned prayer …
