from a house roof
chimneys like trumpet valve keys
release a soaring solo
seagull's heartbeat
into untouched silence
beside this pavement
wind-lipped cherry petals, pale and panpipe soft
then cross, and over the low wall
deep pink rhododendron buds' thrill
of a bass drum coming
look back into the light
grass sloped as the last page of a thick score
holds a woman and a treble clef of hose
making water bright as symbol shimmers
shower from her fingers
in the woods
gorse plays yellow jazz
and bluebells psalms in cool cathedrals, below
beech leaves singing highest green
to the sun's baton

A collage of pleasurable
A collage of pleasurable viewing.
It doesn't sound as if you've had our drizzle today. I was just realising I've seen so little of bluebells this year and wondered if we could go up to our local woods to see as they must be fully out now. The fresh green of new leaves in the sun is lovely, and how it lights the gorse up! Rhiannon

Love the mixture of sounds
Love the mixture of sounds and sights coming together in harmony.
Loved the lines:-
In the woods
gorse plays yellow jazz
and bluebells psalms.in cool cathedrals, below
beech leaves singing highest green
to the sun's baton
A musical delight indeed.

I love this, it's like a full literary meal of a poem. I particularly enjoyed your description of fallen cherry petals, 'wind-lipped , pale and panpipe soft, there could be no better way of describing them. Every line is reminiscent of the walks I have taken this past week, enjoying nature,

Hi Di. This is lovely. It
Hi Di. This is lovely. It rolls off the page beautifully. I really like the visuals it triggers. The cues are strong despite the sparsity of the style. The sparsity gives it a lightness that evokes the blossom and petals you describe. It works a treat.
"bass" drum
I love that treble clef hose. Inspired. x

Aboloutely lovely. The pace
Aboloutely lovely. The pace of it is so still, like panning round a wide shot slowly. I especially liked the treble clef hose. All of it is really imaginative.

Damn fine song of Spring, DH. Love that you can still see and feel during these hard times. Good sign that there’s still hope for humanity. Cheers and many thanks for this.
