Planting the seed
of suspicion
was Iago's evil deed.
Because it looked
that for promotion
he'd been overlooked
he became furious
and devised a plan
that was spurious.
He didn't bellow,
but quietly plotted
revenge on Othello.
He was meticulous
in making the Moor
extremely jealous.
The scheming thief
stole Desdemona's
silk handkerchief
and this iniquity
convinced Othello
of her infidelity.
How sad that a lie
damned Desdemona
and she had to die.

Luigi what wicked things are envy and jealousy, with malicious joy the most evil of feelings. Sometimes I wonder why Shakespeare wrote Othello it is horrible.

A telling picture of the subtlety of mischief and lies. Be on your guard, think about what you hear! Rhiannon
