Such - and when he was
Gavin of Ropes, you'd believe
he'd bought a boat from a bard for a shilling
called Dignity - sailed her here this very day,
singlehandedly, all the way from America.
He'd tie you in knots with stories of
Such - on the towpath, spinning yarns the bard told him,
catching your rope, unraveling
and never. letting. go.

Always tricky to know your poems :)
This one seems very straightforward about a local character, but I suspect a deeper meaning here.
Also I wonder if this is an exercise in a poetic form, something of which I am no expert.
(Form just pisses me off to be honest.)
In fact this made me think of the houseboat communities like the ones along Amsterdam canals with their eclectic mixture of traditional styles and smoky Budda decored Hippy hangouts.
Yeah, I'm way off I imagine. (Kinda like when I do a crossword :)

I like Andy of Ropes, who might be a Dutch or Belgian saint quite easily. Or a towpath character of note. I knew a Jeff the Fish once. Helped propel me along.
