Rather than trying to behave and not feel our rage or rather than using it to burn down every living thing in a hundred mile radius it is better to first ask rage to take a seat with us.

My dad has a teatowel that says

but he doesn't. He frets, and maybe

that's the reason I enjoyed Trainspotting

so much. It was partly the soundtrack

genuinely liking that those guys. I don't know

if Irvine Welsh was inspired to write the novel

by a teatowel with a slogan on but when I read it

I thought I am learning something here.

My friend Paddy read Trainspotting before

it was a film and I always thought that was impressive,

to have a High Fidelity White Teeth existence

to always know what was going on.

When he was 17 my dad worked in a bookshop

in Manchester that LS Lowry used to go to

and when he phones me to say hi

always at 7 pm I can tell when  he has spent his day

reading.
