Still The Same
By Paul McCann
Today I thought of you and the things we used to do ,
what ever happened to all those people that we knew ,
in my heart I’ve kept their name , to me they’re still the same ,
we never forget somethings ever though time’s have changed .
Tomorrow and always , I’ll remember all of those days ,
isn’t it true , we all had our funny little ways ,
I loved how we laughed and for me that never ends ,
I am fortunate to have known you and all our friends
Yesterday is still the same, all the things we went through ,
I can’t change a single thing and between me and you ,
why would I , we had so many good times , you and me
and when I think of you I know that we were happy .
Being with you was just right ,
I couldn’t ask for more ,
you made me feel better that I’d ever been before ,
I realise that your love for me will never change ,
isn’t it wonderful how some things are still the same .

When you loose contact with
When you loose contact with old friends it's great to recall those memories. I don't think I'd like to meet them now, as it could destroy the great recollections. It's a bit like going back to old haunts where you remember good times and finding the places changed out of all recognition which to me spoils the memory.
I again can identify with your poem and find it encouraging that I'm not the only one who's grateful for the closeness of good friends.

Time captured in a memory -
Time captured in a memory - never changes- the feelings as intense as when they occured all those years ago. This is a very relatable poem- we all have those crisp, clear memories we take out every so often and hold up to the sunlight just to feel the way we did, once again.
I truly loved this- it is one I will read again. Thank you for sharing it.
