Some bring riches
(to a few)
some bring fame
(with problems too!)
some are easy, some cause shame,
some exciting, some rewarding,
satisfying travel,
or experiences novel,
never (truly?) bored,
happy team,
or workplace discord,
some promise sure promotion,
some can fizzle out,
some are wearisome,
and undervalued (no doubt),
but undertaken as a service needed,
cries for extra workers heeded,
or to earn enough
(not for self, for lively leisure, but)
to support family, or friends
and have the ability for discreet charity,
though unappreciated and labour arduous, tough.

Thanks, tried to touch on the different types of jobs; the joys and the weariness and tedium and reasons that bearing the tedious ones are needed! Rhiannon

So many people doing such really difficult jobs, especially at this time, and, as you say, often very unappreciated.  I do hope that the pandemic will help us to appreciate things differently, and have a greater understanding of who the 'key workers' really are.

Though a lot of 'key workers' in society will always be fairly unnoticed by the many, getting on with supporting eg in the family in ways not exciting, but nourishing, thoughtful, building up, preparing for life etc, and in many other ways in society, both paid jobs and voluntary (official voluntary and unofficial!).
